McCain: Not a war hero

McCain, in his own words, admits he violated the military code of conduct while a POW in Hanoi. He revealed the name of his unit and the ship he served on in exchange for better medical care.

Why I use the image of the Joker

The Joker is my alter ego.  Not that I would do anyone physical harm, but I do love aggravating those who take a holier than thou attitude towards others.  Especially folks like the fanatical religious right wingers.  I think of them as the "Christian Taliban".

Though McCain isn't a card carrying member of the extreme right wing, he does lack the courage to stand up to them.  Why else would he pick Sarah Palin, the half baked Alaskan bimbo?  Palin reminds me of a prissy home coming queen with every hair in place.  The only thing she's missing is a tiara.

Palin is proof that a McCain administration would be an extension of the Bush administration.  Palin apparently doesn't read just as Bush boy doesn't read.

The Joker represents the conservatives worst nightmare: The Truth.  The truth is a word that does not exist in the vocabulary of conservatives.  They have distorted the truth about Obama by suggesting he was involved with domestic terrorists and their activities when, in fact, Obama was just eight years old.  They falsely claim that Obama is a Muslim because his middle name happens to be Hussein.  The conservatives were hoping the voters would link his middle name with Saddam Hussein, but the intelligent voters associated Obama with the late King Hussein of Jordan, one of America's best ally in the Middle East.  Guilt by association is the tactic of the right wing.

McCain is very much like every character John Wayne portrayed in his many movies. The majority of those characters resolved situations with violence either with a gun or fists.  McCain shows little interest in using diplomacy, but would rather shoot first and ask questions later. The same is true of his running mate, the half baked Alaskan bimbo, Sarah Palin.

McCain's Health Policy: A welfare program for the health insurance industry

John McCain hasn't a clue as to the cost of private health insurance.  

Why?  Because, never in his life, has he had to pay for health insurance.  He was a military dependent which means his parents never paid a dime for health care since they were covered by the Navy.  McCain spent 22 years in the Navy and never had to pay for health insurance because the Navy picked up the tab.  Now, as a member of the Senate, he enjoys the best health care coverage of all.

He fails to understand the expense of private health insurance, but I know what it costs.  If I want to cover my family with a private policy with a $5,000 deductible, it would cost me $700 a month. That's $8,400 annually.  That's as much as I pay for my mortgage.

McCain says he would make a $5,000 tax credit available to offset the cost of health insurance premiums.  Unfortunately, that doesn't help me or anyone else through the course of the year, and the $5,000 would go directly to his good friends in the health insurance industry.  

McCain just doesn't get.  He is out of touch with the working middle class.

Obama, like a new broom will sweep clean.

Why McCain is not fit to be president

Yes, McCain was a war hero because of his seven years spent at the Hanoi Hilton, but being a war hero is not a qualification for the presidency.  In fact, the Navy declined to promote McCain to the admiralty.  The harsh truth is that the Navy felt he lacked in leadership ability nor the temperament for such a leadership position.

McCain likes to shoot from the hip.  Shoot first and ask questions later.  Exactly the same as the current occupant of the White House and look what that has gotten us.

I also find it interesting that former career military leaders have been less than stellar presidents.  Except for Washington, every former military leader, who became president, are among the worst of the presidents.  Grant had a corrupt administration, Jackson was responsible for the "Trail of Tears" and defiance of the Supreme Court, and Eisenhower did very little except to give us the Interstate Highway system and, to his credit, warned us about the military-industrial complex.  Unfortunately his warning was never heeded.

McCain has shown himself to be less than honorable with his involvement in the Keating savings and loan scandal.  

Finally, I have to ask:  Does any one, in their right mind, really want Sarah Palin just a heartbeat away from the presidency?
